Now, email has become a major part of my daily routine. As have mobile apps, smartphones, smartwatches and a million other things that didn’t exist when I was younger. With the advent of each new tech ‘thing’, I’ve noticed that it’s led to less and less interaction with others. It’s funny to think about. I vividly recall the first time I heard about the internet in middle school. I even remember when my younger siblings and I cried because our older sister told us she got an email address at school and that we had to wait a long time before we could get one! That means I’m old enough to remember things that Millennials consider old (ie, VCRs, Cassette tapes) but young enough to know how to work deftly with technology. Essentially, we had an analogue childhood with a digital adulthood.
I recently discovered that I’m a member of a ‘tweener’ generation called Xennial’s.
